COVID-19 – Update #2

Take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs.

To the residents of Place IVPlease follow these common-sense actions to help prevent the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus among us.

We are attempting to prevent the spread through preventative measures, but we also need YOU to use common sense to help us control the spread.

We ask that when using the elevators, try to limit the number of passengers in the elevator to 3 people and try to distance yourselves from others.

Avoid touching buttons and door handles with your unprotected hands and avoid touching your face until you’ve washed or disinfected your hands after touching unsanitized surfaces, such as buttons and door handles.

Disinfect any incoming packages  (using disinfecting wipes, if you have any) that may have been handled by an infected source.

Also note that we are asking all residents to not allow visitors into our building — with the exception of Personal Care Workers (PCW) and other health workers, like nurses and emergency personnel.

COMMON SENSE RULES

    • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
    • IF YOU ARE SICK,
      • limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
      • CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
    • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or try to not sneeze into the air — sneeze into your elbow if you must sneeze.  After using a tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water.  If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.  Germs spread this way.
    • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like flu.

We know that this crisis will end eventually — if we use common sense, we will have survived this pandemic with fewer issues than if we didn’t — so, for the sake of all residents of Place IV,  let’s be smart and fight this together.
